Welcome to the CDC
This is not the centre for disease control, the college development council or the commonwealth development corporation.
No.
This is the Cambridge Discipline Committee, a group of talented students handpicked by our very own students.
In your typical school, discipline is handled by teachers and if needed, with the intervention of higher authorities such as a vice-principal, yet Arca Global International School's Cambridge department aims to revolutionize student discipline. Our solution? Let other students decide.
With students managing such roles, peers are far more willing to inform authorities of any issues, ranging from bullying to minor inquiries and this creates a far more open, sustainable environment, leaving educators free to educate. This culture of self-discipline nurtures our brilliant students from obedient talent to independent thinkers, capable of leading themselves. And since the leadership includes their own peers, this committee is treated as one of their own.
These kids are not just student leaders, though. They also function as a group of organisers for any event conducted in this wing, advertising programmes, directing parents or other younglings to their roles and ensuring the smooth flow of events.
Best of all, these students are not just a disorganised group with good intentions. They have organised themselves into a firm and detailed hierarchy, based not on class seniority but on performance metrics over the last few weeks.
The hierarchies are led by Siri Vadlamudi, the president and S. Aryan, her primary counterpart.
Beneath each president are vice presidents:
General Administration - V. Sarthak
Planning of Events - P. Vinoothna Reddy (Secondary) and B. Vaghmi (Primary)
Discipline & Conduct - P. Neeharika (Secondary) and C. Snithik (Primary).
On the final level are the secretaries, class leads, event planners and general assistants.

So what do you think? Student-led governance stands out as a remarkable initiative pioneered by our school’s IGCSE department.
