Thrillers on the Basketball Court: U-14 and U-17 in Action

Our school squads recently participated in the RequelFord School Basketball Tournament and what an experience it turned out to be! Both the Under-14 and Under-17 boys’ squads played with passion, conviction, and a flair that had the crowd on the edge of their seats.

The Under-17 team opened their campaign with a commanding 9-point win over Gurukul on Day 1 but in their next clash against RequelFord’s top squad, they too fell to a heartbreaking finish. Our boys were down by just a point in the final seconds. The last shot soared toward the hoop, but as the whistle blew, it bounced out, leaving them narrowly short, yet walking off the court with pride intact.

The Under-14 squad, coached by Kiran Sir, faced HPS Ramanthapur in their opening game. From the first whistle, it was clear this would be a nail-biter. The scores swung back and forth, every basket greeted with thunderous applause, and neither team willing to back down. In the dying moments, our boys trailed by just a single point. With seconds left, they launched one final attack. The shot went up, the crowd held its breath but as the buzzer rang, the ball rimmed out. It was a one-point loss, but the grit and fight of our team earned them admiration from everyone present.

Both matches revealed the sheer heart and determination our squads poured into the game. Under the steady guidance of Coach Kiran Sir, they showed that basketball isn’t just about the scoreboard, it’s about resilience, teamwork, and character. In those qualities, our boys truly shone.
