The general consensus was that this year’s Independence Day event would have been a memorable occasion for the school, helping students recognize the true significance of the day. Preparations were in full swing, with both students and teachers eagerly looking forward to a smooth celebration, especially after weeks of effort put into cultural performances and the march-past.
Ultimately, the heavy rainfall in Hyderabad, coupled with a holiday on the 14th due to the storm, led the school to cancel the well-rehearsed and much-anticipated Independence Day program. The decision, while necessary for safety, left many in disappointment.
One NCC cadet expressed feeling “disheartened” at losing the chance to participate in the patriotic parade they had trained hard for. The cancellation also affected younger students who had devoted weeks of practice to their dances as the training seemed to go to waste.

The school’s student-run dance club had planned a magnificent medley showcasing classical dances from different states, which sadly never reached the stage. The club’s choreographer, shared her personal feelings: she admitted being devastated upon hearing the news but also expressed gratitude that the school prioritized student safety during the storm.
Despite this setback, students remain hopeful that they will eventually be given the opportunity to showcase the performances they worked so hard to perfect.
